June/July
small inklings newsletter
August is here, how did this happen?
Summer in Montreal is sweltering. I had every intention of sending out a July newsletter. However, between moving apartments, preparing work for a show, and taking advantage of summer in the city, time got away from me. Thank you for sticking around!

I am obsessed with photographing bumblebees, so I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Show at Cafe Grain D’Or
I was invited to display my paintings at one of my favourite local cafes, Cafe Grain D’Or.
I created a small body of work to debut at the show, and I am immensely proud of the paintings. The rest of the pieces are from the past couple of years, and I think they give a good sense of how I’ve grown as an artist.
I wanted to attempt to interpret stained glass in watercolour and render dogs in the style of religious icons. You can see the paintings below.

Buffy in all her glory.

Handsome Blackjack
Dignified Midas.

A rare photo of me with some of my work.
All of the paintings are on display until August 30th, and a few are still available to purchase. If you would like to see the work in person, the cafe is at 3535 Papineau in Montreal.
If you enjoy good coffee and local art, I highly recommend it!
On another note, I am open to booking commissions for holiday gifts! I know it’s still the height of summer, but time flies, and I don’t want to disappoint anyone. Please reach out to me via email at [email protected], and let’s chat.
Talk soon,
Michelle
